Arriving at Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport is a major airline hub located just 25 minutes outside of downtown Denver in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
Code named DIA and DEA, this airport is relatively easy to navigate and as pleasurable as a travel experience can be, despite being a busy facility serving hundreds of international and domestic flights each day.
Since its opening, Denver International has consistently garnered awards from organizations such as Airports Council International and Business Traveler magazine.
Eleven car rental agencies, located on Level 5, make for a smooth transition from arrival to your final destination within the city. Or, you can opt for one of the numerous hotels located within the airport complex. These convenient accommodations include chains such as La Quinta Inn & Suites, Comfort Suites and the Hampton Inn.
All of the major carriers, including US Airways, United and Delta, fly to Denver International. If you are traveling nationally and need to save, budget airlines such as Southwest, JetBlue and Frontier have flights here.
Among the overseas airlines operating in Denver are Lufthansa, Mexicana and British Airways.
For the times between flights, the airport offers a variety of restaurants and shops to make your wait more pleasant. You can have a creamy milkshake at Ben and Jerry’s or a hot cappuccino at Starbucks, among other refreshing treats. Enjoy a substantial meal at the Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery.
