Philadelphia by Air: Philadelphia International Airport
The City of Brotherly Love is served by Philadelphia International Airport, one of the fastest growing airports in the US. With frequent, free shuttle buses, budget hotels, art shows and friendly staff, Philadelphia International Airport is a great airport to fly in to.
Located only seven miles from downtown, it is linked with the city and surrounding areas by SEPTA regional rail and bus services. During peak student travel periods, many local universities offer free shuttle buses. Travelers can also opt for a flat-rate taxi into central Philadelphia, or choose from six rental car companies. Short- and long-term parking is plentiful.
Flights from Philadelphia depart to destinations in North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe. While US Airways (which uses the airport as its main international hub) has the strongest presence, over twenty airlines operate flights through this bustling airport.
Philadelphia International consists of seven terminal buildings. Terminals A (East and West), B, C, D, and E are interconnected, while Terminal F may be reached by shuttle. All international flights (with the exception of Canada) use Terminal A West. Terminals B and C are reserved for US Airways, while Terminal F is designated for regional US Airways Express flights.
The Philadelphia Airport Marriott is connected to Terminal B by skybridge.
There are several other hotel options in the vicinity, with something for every budget.
Have some time waiting to catch your flight from Philadelphia? Check out some of the famous Philadelphia MarketPlace Food & Shops, or visit an exhibition featuring work by local and international artists (Philadelphia International is one of the few airports in the world to host temporary art shows!).
