Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, but Seattle calls it Sea-Tac.
Desiring to become “The cleanest, greenest, most energy efficient Port in the nation” (Port CEO Tay Yoshitani), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) aims to provide many “green” options for travelers visiting this city of music, coffee and diversity. With regular budget flights and its “green” aspirations, Sea-Tac can justify its increasing popularity.
Conveniently located 35 minutes south of Seattle and north of Tacoma, Sea-Tac offers flights to locations around the United States, North America, Europe, and Asia.
Check-in is available in the garages for many of the airlines serving the airport, reducing lines inside the terminals.
Using a cell phone, Sea-Tac customers can access current flight information by texting “FlySEA” (359732). Enter the airline and flight number in the body of the text, and Sea-Tac will provide up-to-date information including the flight number, departure/arrival time, gate number, and flight status.
Electric cars receive prime parking spaces with free charging in the Airport Garage. Also, the floor count system lets drivers know how many spaces are available and where.
The Radisson, Red Lion, Clarion, Hilton, and more are moments away from the airport, many offering conference facilities and airport transportation.
By car, use Interstate 5 or State Highway 99.
Taxi service is also available; some offering flat rates from select Downtown hotels. Shuttle Express offers 24-hour airport service. Atlas Towncar and Express Car have limousine services that up to four passengers can share. Gray Line Airport Express and Metro Transit also go to and from the airport. Keep in mind that Seattle has some heavy traffic, so avoid morning and evening rush hours, and allow extra travel time.
